Aluminum shaft
Hi I am looking for an aluminum shaft for my third gen T-56 swap. People are telling me that I can use my stock piece, but that it is not very well balanced. Does anyone know a good place to get a stock length aluminum one? Should I just call Denny's or is there a cheaper route? Like a stock piece from another year? 1LE? If so where can I fond these pieces? Thanks for any help guys.

Welp, you could go Denny's, but I'm sure that would set you back a bit. An 1LE would work as well. However, if you want the most convenient route, and the most popular, look for a LS1 aluminum DS. They are 3" in diameter, and will work for your application.
late model fourth gens are wrecked on a daily basis. If you are persistent you will find one. typical cost is from $100 to $150. Also ebay almost always has one in that range. In the mean time you can run the steel one. If yours isn't giving you bad vibrations at highway speeds then upgrading is just a performance mod. The last steel one I had was fine. I just wanted the fatter, lighter alluminum one. It's got to make some differnce being lighter I figure.

Yeah, thats what I want too. My steel one is totally fine. But there is not a single thing stock on my car, and would like to keep it that way, haha. But oh well I will bolt up the stock one till I find a deal on an LS1 shaft. Thx for the help guys.
