What is a 3.70/PBR 9-bolt worth?

Just curious, as I have a 1989 9-bolt that originally had 2.77 gears, and I have a new 3-series carrier and 3.70 gears ready to go into it. I'm wondering if I'm better off selling everything as an assembled unit or if I could get more money parting it out. Apparently the PBR backing plates are hard to find, and new differentials are pretty expensive.

What could I realistically ask for the whole assembly?

I sold a Factory 3.70 9 bolt with PBR disks for $400 back a few years ago.

well, that's tough to say. I for one don't trust gear installs by anyone but me. I have seen way too many go wrong. and I know alot of guys just toss them in and go. which works for a while but does not last.

if you put it all togeather most likely you can go to e-bay or find a local buyer to pay more than 400.00 however if you are looking for a quick sale. everything but, the housing and posi will go fairly quick. the posi would too but, you would need to take a dive on it

Ok, well I guess it's just not cost effective enough to buy an install kit, etc, considering the price of the parts and considering my time, just to turn around and sell it for less than I have into it. Thanks guys.
