Hey all, im still new to this site, but i got a quick question. I now have a 1987 Firebird 350 M/T and was looking into getting a different rear end setup.

I know theres lots of other info on it, but I cant read through it all. So if someone could just point me in the right direction, or tell me, that'd be great.

I'm not looking for a 12 second car, or a daily driver... i just use this one on weekends and to mess around with after work or whenever. I just want it to get up and go more than the stock rear does.

 

What ratio are you running now? 2.73,3.08,3.23,3.45??

If you dont plan on driving alot of highway go with something pretty steep like 3.73s or 4.10s

 

its a stock car, so i dont know. Right now im trying to find out my RPO numbers so i can figure out what exactly I have, but they're nowhere to be found on my car

 

try pulling the cover and taking a look at the gears, counting teeth, doing math. you'll have a better handle on what gears you have in it than looking and guessing at codes that don't mean much after 20 years
