T% swap questions
I've started rounding up the parts necessary to swap my 700R4 to a T5 and I have a couple of questions. First, I have a Spohn adjustable torque arm that takes the torque arm off the tailshaft and puts it on the crossmember. I've read of having to swap crossmembers and mounts, will I have to do this or can I keep my Spohn setup. Second, I've been going over clutch specs from various manufacturers and I need opinions on clutches. Since I'm starting out pretty much stock as far as the tranny is concerned (I'll have it gone through prior to install) what is a good clutch that would be a step up from the OEM piece? I don't want to get too high performance as I'm leaving the door open to upgrades further down the line and since I haven't driven a stick car in several years I'd like to ease back into it. And finally third, what's everyone's opinion on the aftermarket shifters available out there? I'm not a fan of any one in particular at this point but I've checked out Hurst and Pro 5.0 and they both seem to be quality products. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

i can't remember if the crossmember is different or not from the auto to standard. I know the spohn setup is an independent thing and takes the load off the trans tailshaft. As far as a clutch is concerned. I had good luck with the centerforce dual friction setup. It isn't too expensive, about $300.00 for the disc and pp. The shifter is another story. Pro 5.0 is a good brand but so is Hurst and B&M. I really have't heard anything bad about any of them. hopefully somebody else out there has more input on the shifter situation.
