transmission woes

ok i have an 84 z with a 355 swapped in. the transmission worked fine behind the 305 it would chirp second even. i think the transmission was rebuilt while the 305 was in it. ok after doing the swap i have purchased all the right brackets and linkage for the tv cable and even installed a new tv cable. i have tryed my best to set the cable exactly like it says but nothing will work. i can make the car where it will run good wide open but thats about it. i cant get the part throttle shifts right at all. anyone had this problem before?? any help is greatly appreciated. if somebody is local to me ill pay them to get it right.

Take it to a good trans shop. They can look at the parts and the geometry to see where the problem is. Tbi, carb and tuned port all used different length tv cables. You may simply need a different cable. After making the nescessary changes and adjustments, the can verify tv settings with a pressure guage.

They sell for about $60. Most auto stores that sell tools can get you one. Autozone may even have one to rent. An ATSG manual will give all of the 700 specs. It is a complete overhaul manual.
