2.73 open to 3.42 posi - What should I expect

I know 'what' will change as far as ratios etc. But with never having a posi thirdgen and now having these gears, will I have a noticeable difference in the way the car takes off? Im getting a 10 bolt posi disc rear to replace my stock open 10 bolt....I have an LG4 , but still think that I should expect a little more umphh off the line....am I correct on this?

Night and day my friend. I don't know about going from 1-wheel-peel to 2, but I went from 2.73 posi to 3.42 posi. Best thing you can do w/o getting under the hood.

I went from a 2.73 open to 3.73 posi...Night and day.. Im making somewhere in the market of 320-350hp so it was a huge difference for me, but you will definately feel 'umph'... its also nice not to be a one-wheel-wonder. If you ever get a more stout smallblock in there, expect to do a good amount of suspension work... cause my traction sux some major ***. If im not wheel-hopping off the line them i am fishtailing like im on snow. (never driven my car on snow btw)

No kidding, I have a Lb9/L98 hyrbid and it doesn't have any traction. At shifts it kicks sideways, I have to granny it from a stop. Fun though.

well I think I have the suspension area covered....just about complete aside from a tubi- torque arm which I wont both with until I do put some power under the hood. I guess I should make sure I dont push everything too hard since Im underpowered and stuck to the ground huh?

....well I do have a new video camera, so maybe a lil fun this summer

Just finished a 2.73 to 3.42 (both limited slip) swap. Oh so sweet!

Dont forget to change the speedo gears in the transmission so your speedometer will work correctly.

I noticed alot of difference in feel when I went from 2.73 to 3.08 in my 1990. When I went from 2.73 to 3.42 in my 1992, it was really great!
