2.73 gears?

Transmission: tci streetfighter 700r4
well derek it all depends on what you plan on using the car for.
ie. full drag, every day driver/weekend worrior, road course,drift ect........... the 2.73 will give you a good crusing rpm and it will help with gas milage, the 3.73 will give you more pull out of the hole but your rpm will be higher when crusing. i sav go with 3.43 or 3.73 thats my

That 383 is going to make a ton of torque. If you go with a lower gear you may just smoke the tires off and not hook up. I'd wait until after the 383 is in and all tuned up to see how much traction your getting at launch with the 383.

my bros 84 with a very mildly camed 383 and stock rear gearing you could smoke the tires just by barely tapping the gas. he could roast them through 2nd and 3rd gears on his auto before it got trashed. we unhooked that 700R4 off the back of that 383 and all the guts fell out. it was perty cool. looked like it had sheared all the bolts in it.
