TV / Kickdown cable
the transmission shop who has been working on my car for about 6 months straight lol from cottman center to cottman center. finally this last one has fixed everything but said my tv cable is old and needs to be replaced which i think would make sense since at light throttle the shifts are slow and dont engage much unless i let off and get back on. it has a corvette servo. how can i tell if my cable is bad for sure and can i just modify my existing one to lengthen or shorten it.

the only way i would say you would be able to tell is by taking it off and inspecting it to see if the cable has fraid or if there is a kink in it.....possibly you could try taking it off of your throttle body and pulling on it to see if it has a lot of resistance......but if you do suspect it you might as well just replace it.....just BE SURE to go to GM to get another one....i went to pep boys to get mine and it was about 6 inches too long and the outer casing on the wire was too stiff so it couldn't make the bends behind the motor....when i got the one from GM it was perfect length and routed up to the bracket just fine.....GM cable cost around $21 or so....Pep Boys was like $18 so it really isn't that much of a difference for the better quality one......hope this helps!
