I got my trans rebuilt and put a 383 with no computer in my 86 firebird. Fired it up and the trans is locked up in all gears it seems like. I put the rear up on jack stands and put it in gear and the wheels will spin but they won't stop when I hit the brakes because it will idle down and die. Basically, the trans won't slip at idle like it's supposed to.

I bought the lockup kit for overdrive but I dropped the pan and the electrical connection inside isn't even hooked up to anything.

I tried to call the place that rebuilt my trans but their # is no longer in service (tpi performance). It has a 2500 stall converter also.

I don't know what to do. I've heard that the solenoid might be stuck but I don't know where it is.
