TH700R4 with B&M rebuild kit.
Pulled my TH700R4 apart this weekend, guess what i found.
A broken spring.....

That probably caused this.....

The spring is no problem, since it's not used in the shiftkit (B&M).
The separating plate however, should be used again. Can i use it even though it's damaged (no holes in it).
(I would probably have a hard time finding a new one, here in Sweden).
I also read this in my "ATSG" manual.

Can i combine this mod. with the B&M rebuildkit, drilling another
hole in the separatorplate (marked red).

yes, drill that hole. the transgo kits tell you to drill it to.110-.116.
those springs can cause your 3/4 clutch pack to burn up.
the plate, if it has no holes, tap the metal back into place while it is on a flat surface and it should work fine.

i wouldn't try that. the seperator plate is thin and you could burn through it. with the 1-2 accumulator sleeved in place like the shift kit suggest, the plate will have no pressure from a spring acting on it so it will not be an issue once you install the shift kit.
Install the load release springs, if you are not going to change the clutch count. These improve the 3-2 downshift. "DO NOT" drill the 2nd gear feed to .125", unless you want a violent 2nd gear part throttle shift. With a 12" TC, drill to .086"-.096" at the most, and with a 10" or smaller TC .096"-.110" at the very most, and "DO NOT" block the 2nd gear accumulator, unless you want a violent 2nd gear part throttle shift. My ***, I cannot believe that anyone (valve body performance upgrade manufacturers) would block or eliminate the 2nd gear accumulator. Replace the broken spring with a slightly stiffer spring that is straight wound, not conical as they are known to break as you can see, and it will not eat into the valve body plate. If you are concerned that the plate might hold, add a corner plate, and that will solve this.

skip the B&M "shift kit" and do it right. - Superior makes a shift kit that actually re-springs the whole valve body, not just ups the pump pressure and eliminates the accumulator springs(I agree w/ Pro Built on that one) Eliminating the springs is bad, just put in good, stronger springs(Superior kit). PATC sells the Transgo seperator plate for like $20. Not sure what it would take to get it to Sweden, but you might wanna look into this. They also sell the Superior shift kit for probably less than the crappazz B&M kit. If you knew how many B&M built 700R4's get blown to pieces with any decent power, then you wouldn't run any of their 700R parts either...
