Richmond 6 speed worth the $?

When I get my new car I am going to trick it out and I know from past experience the stock t-5 will never handle to power I intend to have with a new engine. My question is, does anyone have any experience with the Richmond 6 speed? If so, what are your impressions? Do you think the extra gear (and therefore closer gear ratios) worth the more than $1000 more it costs over the tremec 5 speed? Thanks!

Car: '73 Ventura, '81&'87 Firebirds
Engine: 406,400,307
Transmission: ST-10, TH350
Axle/Gears: 3.90,3.73,3.23
The TKO 600 is a better trans all around and that is what I would go with.
