I have a built 700r4 w/2800 vigilante conv. The lock-up feature is wired through a toggle switch.
My question: What would produce the best track times?
-always locked
-never locked
-or split (1-2 unlocked, 3rd locked)
Thanks
Matt

NEVER locked will keep you from FRYING your TCC clutch, trashing your valve body and converter, therefore requiring a transmission rebuild. Unless you have the $$$$ converter DON'T lock the TCC at over about 1/2 throttle (USE THE GM VACUUM SWITCH (connected to ported vacuum) in your setup)
I'm not overly concerned with longevity. I am more concerned about performance #'s right now. This is only a weekend toy and will be changing trannies soon enough anyways (to th350/400)
Thanks
