I have an 88 iroc I got from a friend. The car has a cable driven speedo. The tranny has an electric sender. Can I just put drive gear in the tranny then the other cable drive parts? Will I have to get a different extension housing or does mine have the support spots for the driven gear?

 

You will need to get the drive gear, clip/retainer that fits into the output shaft for the drive gear to slip over, then the driven gear and sleeve. You will have to pull the extension housing to access things. I did this on the 700 in my 55. It has a cable driven speedo. Now I'm looking for the 91 Caprice VSS that has both the cable and the VSS combination.
