it shifts kind of hard from 1st to 2nd unless i let off the gas

 

your trans should shift firm, that means the clutches are engaging rather than slipping. If it is too hard for you, you will need to replace the 1-2 accumulator spring in the valve body. All shift kits come with different stifnesses so it is a trial and error process.
