how to rebuild 700R-4
Can someone recommend a good book or video on how to rebuild trans. I want to rebuild my 700R-4 to a full manual. I have another shop that rebuilds trans for my customer but I want to learn how to rebuild mine. I wouldn't want to practice on my customer's trans
My tranny is the perfect candidate. If I screw it up at, oh well at least I would not have to answer to a pissed of customer and forever loss a valued customer.
Thanks,
Bennie

I did mine having never seen the inside of an auto tranny before. I used an AST manual. Got it off ebay. I also had the bennifit of having my Dad's supervission as he was an auto tranny mechanic for Allison back in the 70's and 80's. It wasn't that bad at all.
I had to make a giant C-clamp to use for a press to get all the clutches apart. The c-clamp worked fine, it was big and clumzy but it worked.
