1985 transmission

What would be the model # of a 1985 Camaro V6 (2.8L) powered automatic transmission? 700R4?? Thinking of putting in a 5.0L V8 4BBL! I think the 700R4 will bolt up to the 5.0L.

i am sorry but the trans wont fit you will have to get one for a v8

Do you happen to know the model of tranny in that 2.8L V6? It is an automatic.

not really sure on the v-6 i think in 85 it was a 700r4 maybe someone will chime in who knows for sure

Transmission: 4L60E/A4

It is a 700R4, and no it will not bolt up to a 305 small block chevy. You will need a transmission from a v8 car.

btw why a 305 do you already have one if not why not a 350 cheaper to rebuild

The 85 2.8 motors did come with 700r4's. The code on the case is 5yx
