Axle/Gears: stock
shift selector help

lately noticed that my shifter doesn't have any resistance when put into gear,then last night won't shift to park but all other gears work.in other words my car should be in park but it is in reverse etc...Is this a TV cable problem?Linkage?

Without question you need to check your shift cable. Theres one end at the transmission, driver side, right next to the pan, one end under the shift plate (3 bolts, one is under the ashtray the others are just aft of the shifter handle.) Take off your T-handle shifter by using needle nose pliers on the front side of the handle, theres a clip inside the slot that has to come out, then the t handle comes off. This'll let you pull up the shift plate. Have a look - they're known to break the plastic end connector on both ends of the cable.
