Pinion Seal for 10 bolt
I bought my 91 new and had no idea there were 9 bolt and 10 bolt differences. When listening to the cassette it came with, the G92 car should have rear discs. The car actually has the 10 bolt with rear drums. And it was about a year ago I finally found out that rear discs were not available for a while and drums were installed instead. It's a 5.7, and the pinion seal is leaking. If I order a pinion seal and crush sleeve for my car, is there a difference between the 10 bolt and 9 bolt seals? Will I need to specify I have a 10 bolt/rear drums?

you only need a seal and a new nut, not a crush sleeve. yes you need one for a 10 bolt, the brakes at the ends of the tubes doesn't matter as far as the seal goes. if you want to maybe save some confusion take your old seal with you, or buy a seal for the same year s10

One thing I have noticed with 10 bolts is when they start leaking from the pinion bearing, its a sign the rear is on the way out. It normally indicates too much pinion bearing play.
