I gotta question about posi, if i was to say, Race a Mustang with a strong 305 in it with posi, What would be the better gears for my 86 T/a, and how much would a new posi rear Cost me? + installation thx

Hey teapot3208, his question is a little cloudy but we can help him...easy answer: 3.42 gears and about 200-300 bucks in labor for the installation.

unless you get a good deal off ebay, a new (good) one is about mid 300's.

You can go to the junkyard and see if you can find a 3rdgen with the gears you want and posi...I found a Z28 with 3.73s and posi for $150
, but didnt have the money at the time and they crushed it 4 weeks ago
(of course, i went there 3 weeks ago to get it). I'd go around the junkyards and check them first. You won't have to pay for install or new parts, just get someone to put it up under there. If you can't find one there, then I'd go with new stuff. Looks like I'm gonna have to go with the gettin new stuff route.
