which is better?

After a search I really couldn't find an answer. I wanted to replace the driveshaft in my '89 iroc with a 4th gen aluminum. I read that there was a difference between the lt1 and the ls1 aluminums. something about a balancer ring? Is one better than the other? Also what year/make/model cars can I remove these from? I don't know much about 4th gens. Thanks.

The LT1 shaft is 2 3/4 dia and the LS1 is 3 dia. Any 4Th Gen Aluminum dr Shaft will fit on 3rd Gen Car.

the LS1 driveshaft is usually more desirable due to the fact that it has a vibration damper on it from the factory. they can be gotten off of any LS1 car which i believe started in '98 and up. i have heard that it has to have a certain gear ratio but i'm not positive about that part.
