I think my linkage needs adjusted- not going all the way into park some times
Ok- sometimes i shift my 700r4 into park- and it doesnt click in all the way- which way does my linkage need to go to tighten up the shift?

If the problem isn't obvious on the tranny end, have a look under the shifter plate, its 2 bolts towards the rear of the shifter, and one under the ashtray. Remove the clip from the front of the t-handle shifter with needle nose.

On the 700R4, the lever on the tranny needs moved all the way forward for Park. There is no adjustment, other than about 3/4 inches of slot in the lever on the tranny side. A new cable is probably in order - they are about $30 or so - they can become frayed inside, and not push the cable all the way through, and there is no fix for it.
A note on cable install if you get a new one - make sure that, if you need to twist the cable any at all for installation (to get it fed through floor, or attached to tranny) - make sure you twist clockwise - this will keep the twist in the cable tightened (instead of loosening the twist) and keep it from yet again fraying on the inside. Install new cable from topside first, then attach to tranny.

Thanks!, I might be looking for an aftermarket shifter anyways.. I have been looking at Hursts Promatic 2...
