Well a th350 can be had for cheaper than a 700r4 and stock for stock, they can handle more power.

That being said, they have no lockup torque converter (except th350-C) so you will kill your gas mileage. The first gear ratio is nowhere near as good as a 700 so your launches will suffer. They have no overdrive gear so your gas mileage will be further reduced and you can forget about trying to take it on the highway. I also dont think they shift as hard as a 700R4 but I'm not certain on that one.

If all your worried about is power, not mileage or anything else, then go for it. - For power, you'll also need to lower your rear-gear ratio because of loosing the lower 1st gear of a 700. - There's a list of things you have to change to swap a T350 in
If you want mileage and good daily driving manners, stick with a 700r4 just put a little money in it.

but also requires either an aftermarket, non-trans attached, tq arm, or a bracket to mount the factory to(what a waste...) yes, they can be built to shift as hard, but in stock form they don't.

Why dont you try a search?

Ok. You can do loads and loads. It all depends on what you have infront of it and behind it. That means engine and differential (carrier, gears, tires). How much power are you putting through it?

If you are only mildly modding your stock engine you dont need to to a lot. Depending on your engine, you may want to run a higher stall converter. How high depends on how much street it will see and how much track it will see, as well as your engine. Another good thing to do is get a TransGO shift kit (NOT a B&M one). A shift kit will make it shift harder, faster, smoother. It will also prolong its life. Sometimes people like to but a different servo in it as well. That will help with shifting. If you like to go really fast you may have noticed that if you give it anything more than like a quarter throttle in OD it will downshift, reducing your top speed. This can be fixed by a downshift kit. You will have to do more research on that one, but what I know is you put something in the trans and it will make it so you can keep it in OD at WOT which will give you a WAY higher top speed.

What about a turbo400
same, except heavier, steeper gearing yet.
- mods, well, as stated, that all depends on what you're going to do with the car and power/gearing/etc. My usual performance 700R4 mods are a Beast reaction shell, Superior valvebody kit(shift kit), Alto clutches and thick steals, brown or purple accumulator springs(depending on how firm of shift desired), Billet servos, and a good converter. - That's a basic performance overhaul. Makes for solid, consistent shifts and a strong tranny for most street driven performance cars.
- As stated, stay away from the B&M and the TCI crap.
also, I would stay away from the OD over ride unless you do more mods to the internals. OD wasn't built for WOT assaults.
