Transmission: th350 modified
Axle/Gears: 3.42:1 posi disk brake 10 bolt
7-5/8 10 bolt posi

i shelled out my 3.42s and was woundering if i should disasemble and clean it out or just clean it up.i have never worked on one before. i need advice.

what's the differance between "clean it out" and "clean it up"? while you're defining things what's "shelled out" mean.

SHELLED OUT MEANS THE PINION GAVE OUT AND SHREDDED THE RING GEAR.THERES ALOT OF METAL SHAVINGS IN THE CARIER, SHOULD I TAKE THE POSI APART TO CLEAN IT OUT?

press the cap lock key when you type, no one likes reading in all caps. i tihnk i might want to get some or all of the chips out before i ran it again. don't think i'd want to disassemble the carrier, you ought to be able to clean everything without doing that.

should definately pull the carrier apart. any little shavings in there will mess it up in a hurry!

BTW, please turn off the caps

while you're down there, nows a good time to throw on a solid pinion spacer, weld the axle tubes, and get a think aluminum differential cover...
