Best choice for Aftermarket rear

I have searched here as well as the Aftermarket Product Review board, and have not found any clear comparisons / details on my subject. I am interested in getting a new aftermarket read for an 88 IROC. Depending on the deal I can get, I may also get it with a brake package. I am basically wondering what some of your experiences have been with any aftermarket companies that offer rears like this (Currie, Moser, Strange, etc...) Who should I go with? I am also debating on WHAT to go with (Ford 9' or Chevy 12-bolt).

Any feedback, thoughts, detail on this subject are appreciated. My car has been sitting with a new motor in it for years now just waiting to come out. Help me get this going!

Thanks

It doesn't really matter what brand or style you go with. They'll all do the same job. Some people want to keep their cars all GM and install a 12 bolt. Some like the fact that there's more and cheaper parts available for a 9".

There are pros and cons to each diff so it boils down to what you really want. Price is about the same with a complete, ready to bolt in, diff at around $2500.

You can also keep running the factory diff until it finally breaks, then decide what to put under the car.

I'd like to know the pros and cons of the Ford 9 Inch Vs the Chevy 12 bolt actually are (I know there is a weight & stregth difference)

I'd also like to know what people think of the quality and support you get from the different manufactures (Currie, Moser, Strange, etc).

Opinions on any of the above are appreciated.

And like I said in my original post, my car has been sitting for a while, waiting for this decision to be made. So waiting for the factory unit to go is not an option. I have gone threw a couple already and I'm tiered of it.
