there are WAY to many variables in what you have/are gonna have to even attempt to spec a converter. - Stay away from the TCI, B&M, and all the cheapies for a 700r. - If you can't afford to do it right the first time, can you afford to do it again?

What is wrong with the TCI and B&M converters? Is it one particular model that you had trouble with, or are you suggesting that there entire line of converters are junk?

I was about to buy a B&M Holeshot, are you saying that it is junk?

If he won't say it, I will. all B&M Converters are junk. There, I said it. I've posted before about why I believe that. Get an Edge EDGE Racing Converters | Welcome Andre at Edge is one of THE BEST converter guys on teh planet. one of his converters will net you .4-.5 seconds in the 1/4 over a B&M and will be 100% streetable without generating excess heat. "You get what you pay for" is especially true with torque converters.

xgtharo86x, for your application, since you're so stock, the stock S-10 converter might be a good choice. It stalls around 2200 RPM, and is pretty cheap($120ish from most parts places). Searching will give you the S-10 year range your after.

- My 13.90 4.3 S10 Blazer took a "holeshot" out on its 4th pass. - B&M and TCI use stock cores and loosen them up. You end up with a converter that stall higher, but the fins can flex/bend/tear out, they generate more heat, and less driveability. Every one I've ever seen in a 700r only lasted about 10k, then took the trans out with it.
- You deffinitely get what you pay for. Cheapy converters are just that. - For a stock/mild combo, the "B29X" (4.3 stocker) is the way to go. Cheap, effective, no issues.
- past that, edge, yank, precision, ati, raptor(patc), or torco for a 700r converter.
