i'm wondering what folks prefer for rear ends with something around 500lb. torque 500hp... it'll be an automatic car with 700r4/or /th400 running dot slicks@ the track. car is a daily driver but very short commute.

friends have told me a bit about 12 bolts and others have recommended 9" fords. no one has quite told me why on either. i have an 88 grand marquis wagon in the driveway with a good condition 8.8" rear end as well. although i haven't read much about that in a camaro.

i'm in the process of building a 383 .060 over. looking for something to match that with a non-existent budget. i'll be rebuilding something...
