What stall speed for my zz4?

I have a stock converter now with what is supposed to be redone to a 2200 stall. It is only stalling at 1800.A buddy told me a 2800 would be good but is that kind of high.I have heard good things about Edge converters.Do any of you guys have these.I have a zz4 with a 700r4,3.42 gears and a 27in tire.Thanks.

i will be getting an edge coverter here soon, as well as rebuilding my rear, and probably a pro-built trans.

i've heard great things about edge converters, and i'm banking towards a 3000-3400 stall.

somewhere around 3k would be good for you too, IMO.

I have a pro-built its worth every penny but when I got it Dana the guy who owns it only had a non-lock up 3200 and it was way to much for the street.I still have it in my garage.I could use it but it sucks on the street.

The non-lock up is a Continental 10in.It's a good converter but it is a little radical for the street. I could put it back in. Shouldn't cost much.If you don't drive the car every day it's not that bad.Pro built has them online.

tell me more about your pro built trans. I'm in the market for a tranny here very soon.

right now i'm running around w/ a stock 700r4 that came with the LG4 lol. All it has is a B&M shift kit,BO lock-up kit, and a supercooler. she needs replaced bad, huge WOT flare from hell, haha.

I give it credit, I'm surprised it held on this long with the 350HO...

lemme hear the love for pro built!

Well honestly I have never seen anything like it. I knew many friends in the late 90s when I got the car that were getting rebuilt 700r4's at so called "Bad *** tranny shops". Most of them had 250-400hp L98 Z's and were blowing them up all the time. The owner of Pro built Dana is a really nice guy and he will tell you what you need and what the tranny can do. No bull$hit with him.I have the Road Race package.Go to Third Gen .org : F-Body : Chevrolet Camaro, IROC, Z28, Pontiac Firebird, Trans Am and it will direct you to his site. I think mine was $2,100 with the stall to the front door.I have had it 4+ years and no problems but a rear seal that starting leaking a little that was easily replaced.Spend a little more and get it done right the first time.

WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't know what I did with the website address but just click on that Third gen part.
