Car: 92 Mustang Coupe/89 Camaro RS
Engine: 5.0 carb'd/305
Transmission: T5/T5
Axle/Gears: 3.73 and stock TrakLok/stock GM
T5 from 4th gen???
OK, my T5 in my 89 305 RS is kinda screwed. So im gona either need a rebuild or a replacement.
Will the T5's form the 4th gen V6 cars work??? I heard they are the EXACT same as a V8 3rd gen T5.....any truth?
Reason im asking is I know how hard V8 3rd gen T5's are to find in good working order for a reasonsable price...I mean, asking 500 bucks for a T5 in the Mustang world is laughable...a used T5 usually goes for 400 bucks TOPS and thats in good condition. While a POS T5 can go for 300-400 for ThirdGen's!!!!
I dont want to change my clutch, just swap trannies!!!

No; they are 6-cyl transmissions. They might or might not be the same as 3rd gen 6-cyl transmissions (I wouldn't know that, having absolutely no knowledge of or interest in 6-cylinders whatsoever), but they MOST CERTAINLY ARE NOT the same as V8 3rd gen ones.

The 4th gen T5 from the 6 cylinder uses a totally different bolt pattern for the bellhousing, it won't work.
