5speed out of a 4th gen?

ok i have never delt with this before but i was wondering if the 5speed tranny out of a 4th gen v6 will fit on a v8. im sure they have diffrent bolt patterns but thats nothing a new bellhousing cant fix. i was more worried about the strength of it. i know the t5's sucked but i havent found anything stating that thees are t5's. anyone know what kinda power the 4th gen 5spd's can handle? it was just a though being as a t56 is close to 2k and i can get a whole v6 4th gen for under $700.

No.

There's usually a reason why something is cheap.

And often, a reason why it's inexpensive, too.

And that reason most often, is NOT because everybody's trying to scarf it up.

Great point, but I never said it was cheap. Of course that just makes me look even worse.

Look at the bolt pattern, where it mounts to the bell housing.

It's different.

The problem with the clutch gear bearing retainer is that the throwout for one of these cars won't work with all that in the way.
