T56 Shifter

I'm looking for an aftermarket T56 shifter that will allow me to put on my own shift handle. All of the aftermarket shifter I looked at the handle can not be changed unlike the factory shifter. Anybody know of a good one?

that is the best they say...ill be looking into one of those in the future.

B&M, Hurst, Pro 5.0 are the top dogs and some of the only shifters pretty much.

stock Hurst shifter has a removable shaft., you can probably pick one up cheap. I gave 2 of mine away a couple of years ago.

Were all stock shifter made by Hurst or was that an extra option? I thought I had read somewhere that the hurst shifter was a stock shifter with a hurst handle, is that true?

Also I have a question about the shifter springs. The springs that center the shift handle, is that part of the shifter or the transmission? I noticed on the stock shifter when I push the handle left to the 1/2 position it will return the the 3/4 position if I leave it in neutral. However, when i push the handle to the 5/6 position it will stay there even though it is still in neutral. Is it supposed to do this? I figured it would always return to the 3/4 position when in neutral. Do I have a bad spring and if so is this something a new shifter would fix or does something in the tranny need fixed?
