Im in florioda and am looking for the average install for a posi and 3.42 gears with the kit included. I got a price of $425 so far.

 

If that price included all parts ( posi unit too) it is too low I'm sure. If that is the true price let me know , I will send them one of my open units to rebuild.

Where in Fla.? I am in south west Ga., just north of Albany

No I supply the posi and gears. He does the labor and provides the install kit.

 

That price sounds roughly about right, especially if the rear is still in the car.

Kit = $100
Fluids, shop charges, etc. = $25
Labor 4 hrs @ $75 = $300

Pretty much looks like that's right near about the going rate.

I'd be REAL SUSPICIOUS if you got a quote that was dramatically different from that. Anything in the $375 - $450 range is probably believable. Keep in mind, if you pay the least, you tend to get the least; for work like this, buying it on the low bid is likely to be a painful lesson.

 

Ok , that is believable. I thought the "posi" unit was in the price.

I got a price of almost $800 inc. gears and posi unit.
