Clutch particles in fluid?

Car: 92 & 93 caprice 9c1's
Engine: L05's
Transmission: 4L60's
Axle/Gears: 3.42's one G80, one open
Clutch particles in fluid?
I noticed when I checked my tranny fluid today that when I wiped the dipstick off it left a black smudge on the rag. The fluid is red, but not bright. I changed the filter about 3K ago.
