HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

i need a Z-bar/clutch cross shaft for a 5 speed. obviously its NON-hydrolic clutch. if any one has one or knows how to get one please help me out. its out of a 83 Z-28, from whta i understand is that they went to hydrolic in 84 which means that 82 and 83 are the only years they had that part............any info would be GREATLY appreciated

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Sorry, I threw mine in the trash when I switched my 83 to hydraulic in about 86 or so, because the mechanical thing sucked so bad.

It's really not that hard to put in the later model setup. If yours is broken or something, you'd be alot better off to go that route instead of trying to patch up the Stone Age stuff.

i recall AMES sells a replacement Z bar. i needed one way back myself and ran across it in their catalog. also check the dealer, thats actually where i got mine from but be sure ya get someone to check the welds on the arms. both of my arms broke off within a month and i hadta have them welded back. otherwise all is good.
as for the old style linkage, i like the fact that its adj vs the hydro system. i have both, mech linkage on my 83 T/A and hydro on my 89 formula.

i would think they would by now, a parts supply without web access is crazy to not have.

ya ever thought about making one? its nothing more than a heavy steel pipe bent in a simi "S" shape and the 2 crank arms on ither side. mic the bel cranks so you know what the inside dia is and then use a heavy gauge pipe with that inside dia and you should be in good shape.
the Z bar i seen was in one of their catalogs long ago.
