1987 TRANS AM 5.0 FI REAR END QUESTION

DOES THE STOCK REAR END HAVE POSI-TRACTION?

IF NOT, IS IT A SIMPLE CONVERSION TO MAKE IT POSI?

No...Limited Slip RPO G80 was a extra cost option.
And Yes it will be a major project to install one.

If you want to know what you have, pull the cover and look. Don't waste bandwidth posting that question on the Internet unless you have a photo of your rear end's guts to go along with it.

It's easy (for some people anyway) to swap out. It's super tough for others. It's extremely easy for me. Brain surgery is easy for a brain surgeon, but I don't think you want me cutting on your brain. If you have one of course, which I don't, so I wouldn't care too much.
