TH350 Detent Cable Woes
Ok guys, so here's the deal. I recently bought a '78 Trans Am and I'm trying to get 'er back on the road to finish out my Senior year in. I have it running beautifully, but I noticed a problem while I was rebuilding the carburetor. It appears that someone completely removed the Transmission Detent cable from the car. I cannot find where the cable is supposed to enter the transmission, nor can I find where it would hook up to the carb. The cruise control was also cut out of the car, and the mounts for these two cables have been cut off of the carburetor linkage. The drivetrain is a 403 Olds automatic. If someone could help me out here it would be greatly appreciated. What would be really nice is if I could get a photo of what the carb linkage should look like, hopefully I can put something together that will work. Also, if someone could explain to me or send a photo of where the cable should enter the transmission, it would help a lot. Thanks guys, I've pretty much only worked on Mopars before and this one's got me baffled.

TH350s have a kickdown cable for dropping down a gear or two if you floor it. There is also a vacuum modulator to adjust for shift points based off vacuum.
