Difficulty in converting an automatic to a manual?

Any idea on the cost and difficulty in converting an auto Camaro to a manual? I keep looking and everytime I find that nice, low mile 3rd Gen, sure enough it has an automatic. Ok for some, but I hate automatics! Sorry!

Can a shop do this swop?

I found a sweet 1992 Z28 with an auto... just wondering.

If all else fails go ahead and buy an automatic and get the petal setup from a junk yard car, also the clutch assy of course, you should be able to bolt the pedals right in, you need to cut a hole in the tunnel and be sure to grab the console equipment for the shirter boot, use the lower boot as a reference to cut the hole, you will need to secure the column lock switch so it will no longer lock the wheels, everything should line up together with the old products if you use the t5 transmission and bellhousing, be sure to get the correct flywheel.

HTH

i am sure others will be able to elaborate more.

Hi, I was wondering, I have an 89 trans am with the 700R4 trans and i have a 96 firebird with the T-5. Would the 5-spd out of my 96 be the same as the one out of the 82-92 cars? If so could i use that pedal assembly and slave cylinder, clutch lines. I know i would have to get a new clutch but just wonderin. Thanks
