how much hp/tq can a 700r4 tranny support?

Transmission: T-5
Axle/Gears: 9 bolt
I got a friend at Certified Trans. and he said they cant take much more then 280hp stock

Axle/Gears: 4.30 M12, 23.42 10 bolt
I will comment that they come behind the 330 hp lt4, which is an electronic 700r4 known as a 4L60, they will go with different abuse per year desighn, the newer the better, my friend bought a 700r from tci built, he makes arround 400 hp and 400 lbs @ the flywheel, 3 years later its still good, it is all in how much you want to spend.
