im going with a th-400 for my build up and was wondering what the difference was in the different lengths in tailshafts were, is one stronger than the other? also what companies do you guys recommend race built tranny's from? im looking at about 480-500 whp na plus 300 worth of juice on top of that, i dont want that thing coming apart, i havent decided if i want a trans brake or not, i have a 4400 stall already. any input is appreciated

About 5".

Seriously, there is no real difference in strength. The shorter one is usually easier to work with in a short wheelbase car like ours though.
