it all depends on how you drive it, i used to beat the crap out of my t5 with my 305, not releasing the gas while shifting, i never shifted without the clutch but i blew the tranny, kept popping out of 2nd gear, i installed a rebuilt world class and it's been fine so far behind my supercharged 305 but i always release the gas while shifting, next tranny is a TKO 600

I dont beat the crap out my trans or do anything really retarded. I do drive my car hard alot, i dont hesitate to mash the pedal but i dont miss gears and i always use my clutch and let out of the gas but thats about it, theres not to much i can do with just my stock 305.

There are a lot of myths out there from some people who seem to think that a T5 will explode just idling behind a 350 engine. The reality is there is no way of knowing how much power YOUR T5 will take. Mine lasted with over 400 ft/lbs of torque to the rear wheels, until I started running drag slicks and 12 second ETs, then it broke third gear. I've also heard of T5's breaking behind cars running 14's. So, there's no way of knowing until you break it.
