Ok , here's the deal : I have a '89 Firebird with a 10 bolts 2.73 and I bought a 3.42 axle and pinion coming from an 88 S-10 . The guy at the Autopart store said that the pinion bearings are the same , but the 2 axle bearings are different from a Firebird and a S-10 . I tought 10 bolts 7.5 GM diff , 26 spline axle shaft were all the same exept for the lenght of the axle shafts ...

 

88 up are 28 spline

if the bearings differ then get the ones you need

i hope you hvae the tools and knowledge on how to properly set up carriers and gears or it will be a total disaster

or know someone who does know how to

No problems with Installation It's goin to be done in auto machanic school . But you say that my '89 bird has 28 spline axleshaft ?
