Look at your pan, and compare it to these pics.
If it's the stock auto trans, you'll find it's a 700.
As far as the gears, as always and like everyone else, the only way to know for sure is to take off the cover and look. Which is what you should be doing this weekend anyway, if you haven't changed the fluid lately. While you're catching up on the overdue routine maintenance, make a point of looking at the gears.
