A search will tell you this essentially: Abuse it and it's gone. Drive the car like an old fart and you'll have no problems (at least I haven't).

Re: 5 speed 305

It depends on how hard you beat on it and how much traction you have. I put a 350 infront of my WC T-5 and it lived just fine. Took it to the track a couple times on street tires and drove it pretty hard until the engine blew, no problems with the transmission.

Hey, Amorget,

Does that mean you're an old fart ?

Re: 5 speed 305

It means I have really soft 60 ft times I think a 2.1 was average, same with my 00 Trans Am. Never tried to get them hard out of the hole and it seems I never had enough traction on the street.

Re: 5 speed 305

My first gear let loose on me 2 months after I put my 350 in front of it. Had alot to do with launching hard off of almost every stop light. I've heard they'll last if you dont abuse it or drop the clutch on it though.
