Well i finally got around to installing my new rear and build up my trans the trans went smoove. The rear everything came unbolted except the control arms the bolt is seized up in the bushing and we couldnt air hammer it threw so now the only way the rear is coming out is if we cut the old control arms out and we busted that brake line that runs across the back of the rear. Somehow it needs a oil filter now too. Another thing i noticed was that theres a four prong connector in the case of the drivers side that is missing and the wires for the switch are cut and hanging from the harness any idea were to get that switch i think its for lockup.

 

Dont cut the old control arms, unless of course you really wanted to upgrade them to aftermarket ones : ) Try heating that bolt, and working it back and forth to free it. An impact gun helps here if you have access to one.

If this doesnt help you destroying the bushings is an option... a torch will burn the rubber out (messy, smoky, nasty, and keep water around to kill the flames periodically). Once the bushings are out/gone, clean things up a bit and press in new bushings.

 

that was another option it was 50 for new bushings or 100 for the new arms.

 

Just had the same problem last weekend,sawzall cut the bolts ok just took awile. Getting bolts was another story, ended up getting them Summit.

i took the trans out too the oil filter got smashed on accident the 4 prong connector im talking about is the lockup harness. i ended up buying umi control arms but i got a call from them saying it will take 5-7 buisness days to ship BS
