3:73 gears?

Hi, i have a 91 bird with a 350 and i believe i have 3:23 gears. i'm thinking about getting the 3:73 gears. how much of a differance will i see? my car feels sluggish out of the hole. i can barley spin the tires. is there a noticable difference in swapping to higher gears? i used to have a cobra with 4:10 gears and that thing launched amazingly. i used to pull 1.8 60ft times. i wanna get near that with my formula. another question i have is what if i were to get a shift kit from transgo would that help my launch?

Re: 3:73 gears?

yes the gears will help. i just put 3.73's and a posi in my camaro and the difference to me is amazing. i would recomond doing that. now about the shift kit it won't make you launch better but it will shift quicker which will help et's

Re: 3:73 gears?

cool i'm probably gonna get some 3:73,s as my next mod. i'm kinda debating on the shift kit cause i'm sure the tranny has a crap load of miles on it. i should probably get it rebuilt and while i'm doing it get the shift kit.
