700r4 Delayed and hard shifts

Ok, so i just put in a new 700r4 and now it is upshifting at about 2500 rpm all the time, and the shifts are REALLY hard. Also its delaying the downshifts too, and they are harder than they should be. Does this sound like a TV problem or something more complicated? When i adjust the TV cable right now it makes no difference at all. Also the other day the car seemed to be shifting fine like it fixed itself, and then today its back to being screwed up...kinda makes me think its something electrical or a connection or something. Any ideas?

It could be a sticky throttle valve. try snapping the cable a few times It could also be the cable its self binding etc. It is not and electrical issue.

Thank you, i'm going to go and try that first thing tomorrow. I have a new tv cable coming in as well so i think i'll just replace the whole thing and take out any guess work there.

Re: 700r4 Delayed and hard shifts

thats exactly what these trannies do when the TV cable is disconnected

it will wind up real high in gear and then crash hard into the next gear, like a really crazy shift kit or something

been there done it

good luck
