I have an 83 T/A with 700R4, 305CFI.

Trans is VERY noisy at low revs, goes away over 2000RPM.

I've seen the threads about oil pressure reg valve, but they say more of a vibration than real loud metallic rattle.

Someone suggested the flexplate bolts may be loose, or flex plate cracked. Had a look and doesn't seem to be so.

Any other ideas before I put it into a trans shop?

Is this when setting still reving or driving in low gear?

 

Yeah mine wined real bad just off idle. I think the guy who rebuilt my trans machined the vanes in the torque converter or something. Stopped the noise tho.
