I was looking into this kit to install on my 87 Camaro, I see a kit for 82-86 and a kit for 88 and up. Am I missing someting or is there no such kit for an 87? Is this year a specific configuration or something?

I believe the 1988 transmissions were a bit stronger from the factory. So in general the HD kit is recommended for the earlier transmissions while the street/strip kit is recommended for later transmissions.

As far as I know you can order either kit for any year.
