got a rebuilt dana 44 posi with a 411 richmond although i dont think that matters.anyways the trouble im having is mainly on low speed harder tighter left turns it feels and sounds like the diff doesnt want to unlock and you can hear the left rear tire skip or scuff a tad.almost as if it had a spool in it.do i just need a few miles to loosen it up or is this just a trait with a posi and wider tires?or was my rebuild junk? again it seems to be bad on lefts mostly.

 

What fluid did you use? You may have to add a bit of limited slip diff additive until the chattering goes away. It depends on the fluid. Check the bottle and it may say.

The standard test for the additive is to go to a parking lot and make a series of slow full hard left and right turns to see if there's any chattering. Put some additive in and repeat.

The old Amsoil didn't need LSD. When I called Amsoil (1-800 number on bottle), the support engineer said to do the parking lot test above first. If you get chatter, add 1 bottle of LSD additive and repeat. If you still get chatter, add a second bottle.
