Buying a rebuilt trans

Tomorrow I am going to look at this guys transmission, i told him id give him 600 for it. He told me it is a TCI transmission but rebuilt by a local shop. he said it has "Redline racing" internals. He said it has about 800 miles on it sense rebuild. with a 2800 stall converter.

I just wanted to get everyones input to whether or not this is a good idea, he said he can find the paper work for it. And has anyone heard of readline racing?
