Re: 700r4 help

Depends on how much you intend to build it. Basic kit with clutches, seals/gaskets, filter, band, bearings, thrust bearings/washers, and other tidbits are most likely around $200. Plus add in for fluid, tools, and cleaner...etc. If there is anything broken and you have to replace hard parts, it will get more costly. There are some Hi-Po kits from a few online places that include better clutches, improved 3-4 clutch pack for more $$. Also there are some 'known' factory parts that go bad you might consider upgrading. So then your cost starts going up alot more. Having a local joe shop rebuild it carry in is around $900+ estimated. But thats a basic rebuild, no hard parts included in that price if needed, if they 'shift kit' it then its maybe a little more and nothing gets done other than a hard shifting tranny. Very few shops take the time to go over details, spend money on the good stuff, etc. And if they put a converter in the price, its a genero rebuilt converter that cost less than $100.
